Awards and Honours
The Nepal Orthopaedic Association recognizes outstanding contributions to orthopaedic research, clinical practice and academic presentation through four prestigious awards presented at the annual OrthoCon.
Yonezawa Award – Best Resident & Young Surgeon
Since 2004
Established in memory of Dr. Michiyo Takumi Yonezawa, the award has been presented at the annual NOA Conference recognizing excellence in orthopaedic research and practice among residents and young surgeons.

Ashuma Award
Since 2019
Initiated by Professor Dr. Achyut Rajbhandari and his wife Mrs. Sushma Rajbhandari, the Ashuma Award honors exceptional contributions to Nepalese orthopaedics.

Established by the Nepal Orthopaedic Association through the initiative and generous support of Prof. Dr. Vinod Thapa, this award recognizes outstanding published orthopaedic research.
