About Us

It has now been more than thirty glorious years for Nepal Orthopedic Association (NOA) to institutionalize the Orthopedic services in Nepal. Orthopedic services started in Nepal in the seventies, but it was only in 1995 that NOA was officially registered in the government and organized its first annual conference that year. That was the time when there were less than twenty orthopedic surgeons in the country, the number which has now splendidly increased to more than seven hundred fifty, and every year more and more young and energetic orthopedic surgeons are joining from within the country and abroad. During these years, we have grown not only in numbers, but our service has also extended to different parts of the country.

Governed by a formalized constitution, the NOA functions as the “mother organization” for orthopaedic professionals in Nepal.

Executive Committee: Led by a President and an elected committee, they oversee the association’s strategic vision, transparency, and inclusiveness.
Subcommittees: Includes specialized subgroups like the Scientific Committee (curating academic content) and specific subspecialty societies.
Membership: Membership is open to professionals holding valid NMC (Nepal Medical Council) registrations for MBBS and MS Orthopedics, alongside NMA (Nepal Medical Association) memberships.
